Founder John P. "Jack" Wolfe had over 40 years of experience with Erie Insurance Group. Jack joined The Erie in 1957 as a claims adjuster. Over the next twenty years, he advanced to branch manager and regional vice president. In 1977, with the support of his family, Jack put his company experience and expertise to work in the field and acquired the Newville office.

After attending Bloomsburg State College, John P. Wolfe II joined his father in the business. John manages the Newville location and is now our agency president, taking over after Jack’s retirement in 2002. A second location was established in Shiremanstown in 1980.

Jack’s daughter, Sue Lynn, joined the agency after gaining career experience working directly for The Erie. To support continued growth, son-in-law, Jeff Lynn, joined the firm in 1989 and now manages the Shiremanstown location. Jeff is a graduate of Shippensburg State College and is our agency vice-president.

J. P. Wolfe Insurance Inc. currently services over 8,000 policies, covering the insurance needs of  individuals, families, and businesses in Central Pennsylvania.
